Purple and White Game
On February 25, the Ravenna High School and Oakridge High School girls and boys basketball teams and the communities took part in a Purple and White game. T-shirts and Relay for Life feet were sold and players’ jerseys were sponsored. All proceeds went to the American Cancer Society. A huge thank you to all who supported this important cause. Thank you to Jennie Kruszynski and Margaret Link for getting this going and keeping it going. Thanks to John VanLoon, the ADs, coaches, players, the bands and their directors, senior parents, the Lions, Chamber and the merchants who helped promote and sell shirts, and to Tom Wreath for taking pictures during the boys’ introductions and game. A huge thank you to the fans that filled the gym. Thanks to the sutdents who made posters for the poster contest and the Legion color guard. A special thanks to those who sponsored players. We learned what community means. With people like you, cancer doesn’t stand a chance.
